Lacrosse becomes CWMS Club Sport!

If you are receiving this note you are, or have been, involved with our growing lacrosse program. The pictures above represent CW Lacrosse's firsts; our first learn to play practice, our first CWJRD Games, our CWJRD win and our first CWLA Middle School victory. Today we want to announce the next BIG advancements in the Canal Winchester Lacrosse Program and the next first!

As of today, when the middle school team starts their practice, it will be as an OFFICIAL school club sport for the FIRST time! On February 19th the Canal Winchester Board of Education unanimously voted to approve the teams club status. We’d like to thank Middle School Athletic Director, Brent Palsgrove and the Canal Winchester School Board for their support this season.

Our plans continue as we strive towards the goal of having lacrosse as a fully sanctioned sport at both the middle school and high school level. The recent school board vote for a MS club team was a huge hurtle on the road to getting the district to bring lacrosse on as a fully sanctioned MS and eventually, a varsity level sport.

Today is also the first day of high school practices and, while still only a private club, it marks a significant step forward in the program as well. We’re excited about the future of lacrosse in Canal Winchester and with continued partnership of the school district and athletic directors.

The Canal Winchester Lacrosse Association is dedicated to growing the sport and as such, our girls program starts soon and the CWJRD rec programs start-up in the next couple weeks too. What an exciting time in Canal Winchester lacrosse!

We would also like thank you to all the current and former Canal Winchester players and parents who laid the foundation for the program today. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you for trusting us and for pushing your kids to try something new.
