Future looks bright for Canal Winchester Lacrosse
The Middle School team picked up their first win of the season last night (and the first win in program history). Down 3-1 at half time the team rallied with four second half goals to beat New Concord 5-3. Congrats to the coaches, players and their parents that have been part of the journey. It's been a tough season but no one has given up, instead they find ways to improve each day. Congratulations!
This past weekend also saw our COYLL 3/4 team pick up big wins against tough teams from Hilliard and Saint Paul's. The team was able to put up 25 goals and improve to 3-2-1 on the season. This is the first time in the teams three-year history that they've had a winning record!
Individuals finding success too! Six players from our 5/6 team have joined the Grove City Select Team to compete against other select programs in the region. This past Saturday the Grove City / Canal Winchester Team traveled to Olentangy to take on their two teams. The team won both games 2-1 and 6-3. Nice job boys!
And finally, congratulations to the 5/6 goalie Aidan M. On Sunday he faced one of the many Hilliard Teams during the COYLL Play Day. That team happened to be coached by Bear Davis, head coach of the Ohio Machine. As a result of Aidan's performance Coach Davis offered him a spot on this summers Resolute Lacrosse's Elite Ohio team. He'll be travelling with them to Delaware, Indiana and Michigan to face teams from across the east coast! Congratulations Aidan!
Everyone keep working hard - you never know who is watching!
